OPERATION

This relay operates on corebalance principle wherein the currents in the three phase of the system aresummed by a core balance C.T. which for normal conditions equates to zero. Incase of a leakage current to earth this balance is disturbed causing theelectronic circuit to operate a relay within the unit. In this eventthe relay that is generally connected to circuit breaker operates thus trippingthe main circuit. The electro mechanical relay operates on fault. The EarthLeakage Relay is provided with a TEST push button for checking its operationand a RESET button to reset the relay. This helps in checking the properfunctioning of the relay. External (remote) TEST and RESET connections is alsobe provided.

SETTINGS

To set Leakage and Time delay,press SELECT button set the desired leakage current (from 30 mA to 30 A) byturning the potentiometer press SELECT button to confirm. Then set the timedelay required by turning the potentiometer and press SELECT to confirm.

LeakageSettings: 30 mA to 30 Amps                                                                                                 

Time Delay: 0 to 50 secs
